Our mission is to unlock the potential of outdoor work.
Founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the world gradually began to change and remote work became the new norm, we found ourselves confined to our homes and longing for the freedom to work from anywhere.
How we started
While working outside in our backyard, it was impossible to see the screen clearly. We tried everything from screen glare filters to umbrellas to privacy hoods - but nothing was truly blocking glare while keeping our laptops cool in the sun.
So, we set out to design the best laptop shade on the market.
Testing and prototyping
We started working on our prototype using a variety of materials. After a few rounds of trial and error, we created a laptop shade that was perfect for working outdoors.
Lap Shade was born
We started selling Lap Shade online, and people loved the fact that they could finally be productive outside. We’re proud to have created a product that has helped people unlock the freedom of the outdoors.
